I have had a very busy few weeks with my full time job, and also working from home in my craft room is taking its toll on my inspiration, I have so many things I want to do but unfortunately my crafting enthusiasm to sit in the same room and create in the evening is being undermined by the fact that I have been in that room all day, but hey, I have a job, so am much luckier than some.
We have reached the May Bank holiday weekend, and although its bright it is still cold, how this year is flying by.
I have some good news, I am starting a new chapter in my crafting life, I have accepted a place on a Design Team, you may be thinking what is one of those, well, it is this….
A company or an individual that wants to promote their business in the craft industry needs a way to promote it, there are the usual ways, advertise, Facebook lives ,YouTube and other media but one of the best ways to promote a brand is by asking others to promote it for you, generally there is no payment, but there may be rewards, keeping the stash that is given to use, or other ways.
The Design Team I am now Part of is to support Kendra Morgan of Cards by Kendra, she designs and sells cards, and creates card challenges, which is what I will be supporting, the challenge is quarterly and is to Create 15 cards with six sheets of 6"x6" patterned paper using the FREE PDF file which includes cutting templates and 14 card sketches! that she provides, then post your card creations on Social Media using the hashtag #KendrasCardChallenge2 and you can enter to win one of 3 amazing prizes - the prizes for the current challenge are:
1. Mystery Cardmaking Kit - Contains patterned paper with coordinating ephemera, cardstock, embellishments, stickers & more!
2. Mystery Mixed Media Bundle - Contains stencils, embellishment mousse, perfect pearls, powder pigments & more!
3. Mystery Stamp & Die bundle
For more details, visit the challenge page on her website https://sites.google.com/view/cardsbykendra/kendras-card-challenges
So, whilst this is a challenge to win goodies for others, it is a major challenge for me as Kendra is in America where the “normal” sized card is 41/4” x 51/2 “ I am much more used to creating cards in the 6x6, 5x7,7x7 and 8x8 size ranges, so it is a challenge indeed.
I have created 15 cards for you to see what the templates produce, and my YouTube channel shows how I finished them off,
Why not have a go and pop over to my channel where I will link Kendra’s You tube channel.
Take Care everyone
